Pakistan’s 12th General Election Score Card on Perceptions of Pre-poll Election Integrity: Election Integrity Report

Since the General Election held in Pakistan in 2002, PILDAT has been assessing the fairness of pre-election, election- day and post-election processes for each of the General Elections.

In a slight departure from earlier methodologies used, the PILDAT Score Card on Perceptions of Pre-Poll Fairness ahead of Pakistan’s 12th General Election scheduled to be held on February 08, 2024 has been fashioned using the survey questions developed and used by the global Electoral Integrity Project (EIP) with minor adaptations to suit specific Pakistani conditions. The Score Card has 33 parameters grouped under 8 key areas.

The Score Card on Perceptions of Pre-Poll Fairness has been scored by members of the PILDAT team working in a variety of programmes. This exercise may be considered a preliminary one as the pre-election period is not over yet. It is planned that a larger number of knowledgable persons will be approached to score the election integrity in pre- and post- election phases along with the election day process after the final election results are notified and the governments are formed both in the federation and the provinces.
