PILDAT Launches Youth Provincial Assembly Punjab

October 3; PILDAT has launched the first-ever

Youth Provincial Assembly Punjab by inviting Expressions of Interest from young

people from across all districts of Punjab.

The Youth Provincial Assembly Punjab is a new

PILDAT initiative, which is patterned after the Provincial Assembly of the Punjab.

Its membership, 40 in total, is to be drawn from across districts of Punjab.

The specific objectives of the YPAP are to groom the leadership potential of

the youth from Punjab to help them articulate their views on national and provincial

policies in an informed and structured manner through dialogue and debates.

PILDAT has been successfully running the Youth

Parliament Pakistan on the national basis since 2007. In 2013, PILDAT established

and facilitated the first-ever Youth Provincial Assembly Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

(YPA-KP) focussed on engaging with the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Youth in a healthy

discourse and exposing them to democratic process and practices.

Following is the criteria for selection of YPAP

members:

  1. Interested candidates should be citizens of Pakistan and

    domicile holder of a district of Punjab

  2. Age of interested candidates should not be less than 18

    years and more than 29 years on January 01, 2016.

  3. Interested candidates should be able to read and write

    Urdu

  4. There should be no criminal record against interested

    candidates in Pakistan or abroad

Expressions of Interest by email. The deadline of submission of Expressions

of Interest is Friday, October 07, 2016.

Former members of Youth Parliament

Pakistan belonging to the Punjab province can also join the selection process

for YPAP membership.
