This paper provides parliamentarians an overview of the status of implementation of international agreements on women in Pakistan. It examines Pakistan’s obligations under the UN Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW) and assesses the status of implementation of CEDAW procedures in light of national policies. This analysis intends to highlight possible ramifications of noncompliance and identify areas for further research and debate.
