PILDAT hosted the 5th round of Pakistan-Afghanistan Parliamentarians Dialogue in Kabul on May 29-30, 2011 to bring Ptogether Afghan and Pakistani Parliamentarians to discuss the overarching theme of terrorism and all other possible issues and concerns that affect the relations between the two neighbouring countries. A delegation of 15 Pakistani Parliamentarians, belonging to the Senate and National Assembly of Pakistan had a detailed dialogue with their Afghan counterparts on the issues, adversely affecting the relations between them including terrorism, trade, border security management, youth, Afghan refugees, visas and the role of media in bringing the two countries closer to one another apart from many other issues. PILDAT conceptualised and initiated the project of building and deepening Parliamentary ties and relations between Pakistan and Afghanistan in 2008. Four joint workshops of Pakistani and Afghani Parliamentarians were held by PILDAT in 2008 and 2009 and early this year.
