This Discussion Paper has been prepared for the PILDAT Dialogue Series on Understanding Relations between the Muslims and the Western World: With Special Focus on Pakistan the upcoming series of which is being held in Lahore from December 22-24, 2008. The paper highlights some of the key questions that the series of dialogues may focus on. Some of these questions reflect the perceptions held by many Pakistanis. However, the dialogue is expected to go beyond discussion on commonly-held perceptions and is expected to debate possible policy considerations for Pakistan and the Western World for addressing the issues relating to the relationship in the transformed international system.
