Context: On his show, “Aaj Shahzeb Khanzada Kay Saath,” Mr. Shahzeb Khanzada claimed that the Pakistan Stock Exchange had closed on a 40-month low on July 29.

Claim: “The KSE 100 index saw a drop of 369 points today [July 29, 2019]. The market closed at 31,734 points, which is being recognised as a 40-month low.”

According to data provided by the Pakistan Stock Exchange website and backed by the Bloomberg and Trading Economics, the Karachi Stock Exchange 100 Index closed on July 29, 2019, at 31,734.23 points. Previously when the KSE 100 index closed on similar or lower points was on February 29, 2016, when it closed on 31,388.43 points. Therefore, Mr. Khanzada’s claim is true. The KSE 100 index is at its lowest point in the past 40 months.
