The proceedings of the launch of handbook and roundtable discussion carry an interesting account of a candid debate and exchange of views which were shared by participating parliamentarians and panel of speakers on the importance of Parliamentary oversight of the security sector as well as the need, challenges and opportunities faced by Pakistani Parliament and its committees in exercising this oversight. Talat Masood, Analyst; Senator Farhatullah Babar, Member of Senate Standing Committee on Defence and Defence Production (PPPP), Mr. Sartaj Aziz, Former Federal Minister for Foreign Affairs & Finance (PML-N), Senator Prof. Khurshid Ahmad, Chairman Institute of Policy Studies and Parliamentary Leader MMA and Senator S. M. Zafar, Chairman Senate Committee on Human Rights (PML) who articulated their views on the challenges and prospects of Parliamentary oversight of security sector in Pakistan.
