The first ever Youth Parliament Pakistan, a project conceived and initiated by the Pakistan Institute of Legislative Development and Transparency PILDAT came into being in January 2007. During its one year life the Youth Parliament Pakistan a mock-60 member assembly of 18-29 years old met for over 30 days in 6 sessions deliberating on issues of concern to youth including a number of policies of the Government of Pakistan and formulated and forwarded its alternative policies/recommendations to the Government and the other entities.
