Registration is open for 17th Youth Parliament Pakistan!

October 21: PILDAT has opened the registration process of the 17th Youth Parliament Pakistan. Young Pakistanis between the ages of 18 and 29 years can now submit Expressions of Interest (EoIs) at www.youthparliament.pk for membership of the 17th Youth Parliament Pakistan.

The Youth Parliament Pakistan (YPP) is a flagship initiative of PILDAT to inculcate the culture and values of democracy in the youth of Pakistan, build their capacity and involve them in the national policy discourse. Since 2005, 16 Youth Parliaments have successfully completed their terms and illustrious alumni of Youth Parliament Pakistan are actively serving as political leaders, parliamentarians, civil servants, corporate leaders and various high achievers in different walks of life in Pakistan and around the world.

The 17th Youth Parliament has 300 seats for which young Pakistanis will be selected from all 272 National Assembly general constituencies as well as from Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan. Special seats are allocated for Young Pakistanis or young persons of Pakisatani origin residing overseas to be part of the 17th YPP. The 17th Youth Parliament has a term of one (1) year and its activities will mainly be conducted online alongside atleast one optional 5-day residential session to be held in-person at Islamabad. To be considered for membership, young Pakistanis are invited to submit Expressions of Interest (EoIs) online. The deadline to submit completed EoIs online is December 17, 2021.

Built on the theme of “Pakistaniat” پاکستانیت the 17th Youth Parliament Pakistan will provide its members with exceptional opportunities to develop technical, communication and leadership skills needed for a successful career, gainful employment and to address the issues of today and tomorrow. Like previous Youth Parliaments, the 17th YPP will provide its selected members with exceptional opportunities of meaningful engagement with thought leaders and innovators with practrical recommendations on how young Pakistanis can learn to make informed decisions regarding their careers, understand global, national and local issues and to contribute to Pakistan’s development as enlightened citizens.

There is no registration fee to submit EoIs to join 17th Youth Parliament. Details about selection criteria, features of 17th YPP and Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) are available at www.youthparliament.pk. Expressions of Interests can only be submitted online which can be filled here.
