The introductory booklet of Parliamentary Internship Programme details the objectives and background behind initiation of this programme by PILDAT, with support from the secretariats of the National Assembly and Provincial Assembly of the Punjab as well as United States Agency for International Development. The booklet carries messages from the Honourable Speakers and Deputy Speakers of the National Assembly of Pakistan and Provincial Assembly of Punjab, Introduction, Rationale, the Process, Selection of the Internship Programme 2004 in addition to information about inauguration and orientation of selected interns and the detailed Manual of Internship. The booklet mainly carries a list and brief profiles of selected interns, statistical profile of selected interns, the key features of PIP-2004 and the list of participating institutions in the programme.
