A Blueprint for Fellowship Programmes in Political Parties of Pakistan. Dec 2019.

The Young Politicians’ Fellowship Programme (YPFP) has been conceived and implemented by Pakistan
Institute of Legislative Development And Transparency – PILDAT under Tabeer – Consolidating Democracy
in Pakistan programme (Tabeer – CDIP).

PILDAT and Tabeer-Consolidating Democracy in Pakistan is supporting the democratic processes in
Pakistan by strengthening the capacity of the country’s political parties to be more effective, accountable and
responsive to the needs of Pakistani people.

There are support institutions for training the human resource of other political institutions but no such facility
is available to Pakistan’s young political workers and leaders. Political parties have realised this and have
been incredibly cooperative with Tabeer – CDIP in implementation of YPFP. Few political parties in Pakistan
have been organising poll watchers / polling agents training programmes at a limited scale. However, there
are no internal training programmes for party officials. In this backdrop, despite its limitations, YPFP has
attempted to bridge the gap.
