March 10: The application process for the 18th Youth Parliament Pakistan® is now open at www.youthparliament.pk for all young Pakistanis between the ages of 18 and 29.

The Youth Parliament Pakistan® (YPP) is a flagship programme of the Pakistan Institute of Legislative Development and Transparency (PILDAT) with the goal of empowering young Pakistanis to have a voice in shaping the country’s national policy agenda. Since 2005, 17 Youth Parliaments® have finished their terms, and many of the program’s alums have gone on to prominent positions in government, academia, and the private sector in Pakistan and beyond.

From all the National Assembly general constituencies and Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan, 300 young Pakistanis will be chosen to serve in the 18th Youth Parliament Pakistan®. Young Pakistanis and foreign-based young people of Pakistani descent are eligible for participation in the 18th YPP. Expressions of Interest (EoIs) can be submitted online by young Pakistanis who would like to join. The final date for electronic submission of fully completed EoIs is April 14, 2023.

The 18th Youth Parliament of Pakistan®, based on the theme “United in Diversity, Driven by Progress” will give its participants the chance to learn the technical, communication, and leadership skills they will need to advance in their chosen fields, find gainful employment, and tackle the pressing problems of the present and future. The 18th Youth Parliament Pakistan® (YPP) will continue the tradition of providing its members with exceptional opportunities for meaningful engagement with thought leaders and innovators, as well as practical recommendations on how young Pakistanis can gain the knowledge and skills necessary to make educated decisions about their professional futures, better understand global, national, and local issues, and contribute to Pakistan’s development as informed citizens.

Alumni of prior Youth Parliaments may apply provided they meet the eligibility requirements.
