The Senate of Pakistan will complete its parliamentary year 2024-2025 on April 09, 2025. The first sitting of the Senate for this parliamentary year was held on April 09, 2024. In line with its commitment to transparency and accountability, PILDAT has assessed the Senate’s performance based on the period from April 09, 2024, to April 08, 2025.
This Citizens’ Report on Performance of the Senate of Pakistan 2024-2025 evaluates how effectively the Senate has fulfilled its constitutional role during the parliamentary year using key performance indicators. The report is based on data obtained from the Senate’s official records, including the Senate of Pakistan Parliamentary Year Report: March 12, 2024 – March 11, 2025.1 Additionally, it incorporates insights from Session Updates published by PILDAT throughout the year. To provide a comprehensive analysis, this report also compares the Senate’s performance in 2024-2025 with its performance in previous years. It is important to note that Joint Sittings of the Parliament have not been included in this assessment.
