The first parliamentary year of the 16th National Assembly of Pakistan began on February 29, 2024. This report analyses the performance of the Assembly in the 12 months that have passed since. It has been prepared by PILDAT in keeping with its tradition of compiling assessment of performance of the National Assembly from the citizens’ perspective since 2002.
This report compares the performance of the 16th National Assembly during its first year with the first years of the 15th, 14th, 13th and 12th National Assemblies wherever data could be accessed. This report also highlights the key issues faced by the country during February 2024-February 2025 and how the National Assembly played its Constitutional role in addressing those issues. This report covers the period from February 29, 2024 to February 28, 2025.
