The 14th National Assembly of Pakistan has been voted in through Pakistan’s 10th General Election held on May 11, 2013. It officially completed its first year on June 01, 2014. In keeping with the PILDAT tradition of compiling and disseminating National Assembly’s performance on a periodic basis since 2002, the current report also looks at some of the main categories of legislative performance. The Citizens’ Report on the Performance of the 14th National Assembly of Pakistan covers the period of June 01, 2013 to May 31, 2014. Now that the 14th National Assembly of Pakistan has completed its 1st year, it is all the more opportune time to highlight its performance and recommend reforms to improve its overall performance. The report highlights key areas of concern, milestones and improvements required in various key performance indicators. The report has been divided in three parts. Part 1 states some basic facts related to the National Assembly of Pakistan in order to set the context for the report. Part 2 looks at various statistics related to the National Assembly of Pakistan in order to gauge quantitatively its performance. Part 3 presents a strategic analysis of the performance of the National Assembly along with stating the major challenges faced and the required reforms to improve the performance of the legislature.
