Pakistan Institute of Legislative Development and Transparency – PILDAT held a roundtable discussion on “Understanding the Budget 2004-05” on Sunday, June 27, 2004 at Hotel Marriott, Islamabad.
The roundtable discussion was being held in order to provide an in-depth analysis of the Budget 2004-05 to parliamentarians, civil society members, and other stake-holders. It was an effort to enhance the understanding of all relevant stakeholders about the provisions in the budget and their implications for Pakistan’s social and economic development.
A total of 26 parliamentarians and 7 other participants attended the Roundtable. The general consensus amongst the participants was that there needed to be greater parliamentary involvement in the Budget process.
