PILDAT held a three-day Orientation Workshop for Members of the National Assembly on ‘Rules of Procedures and Conduct of Business in the National Assembly’ from August 29-31, 2004. The workshop was organised so as to raise the awareness of MNAs about their role and responsibilities in the Assembly in order to help them reach a better understanding of the system and a better discharge of their functions in that system. The workshop addressed topics such as Role, Status and Responsibilities of MNAs, Parliamentary Infrastructure, Legislative Business, Non- Legislative Business and Committee System, etc. The proceedings of the briefing session contain the speeches, presentations and papers presented by the speakers and resource persons at the session, as well as transcripts of the Q&A sessions among the speakers and the participants.
