PILDAT hosted the 6th round of Pakistan-Afghanistan Parliamentarians Dialogue in Islamabad on December 20-21, 2011 to bring together Afghan and Pakistani Parliamentarians to discuss the Afghan Transit Trade, Trade and Travel between Pakistan and Afghanistan, Investment Opportunities by Investors of both countries and Prospects of Pakistan-Afghanistan Relations in post-NATO/US Forces withdrawal from Afghanistan. A delegation of 23 Afghan Parliamentarians, belonging to the Meshrano Jirga (Upper House) and Wolesi Jirga (Lower House) had a detailed dialogue with their Pakistani counterparts on the issues including the Afghan Transit Trade, Trade and Travel between Pakistan and Afghanistan, Investment Opportunities by Investors of both countries and Prospects of Pakistan-Afghanistan Relations in post-NATO/US Forces withdrawal from Afghanistan. PILDAT conceptualised and initiated the project of building and deepening Parliamentary ties and relations between Pakistan and Afghanistan in 2008. Five joint workshops of Pakistani and Afghani Parliamentarians were held by PILDAT in 2008, 2009 and early 2011.
