PILDAT in associated of Pakistan-Afghanistan Parliamentary Friendship Group in National Assembly, hosted the 7th Round of Pakistan-Afghanistan Parliamentarians’ Dialogue in Islamabad on December 11-12, 2012. The purpose of 7th Round of the Dialogue is bringing together Afghan and Pakistani Parliamentarians to discuss the issues on cross-border attacks & border security management by Afghanistan and Pakistan, discussion on challenges and opportunities for both countries after US withdrawal of 2014 and review of the progress on the implementation of recommendations of the Pak-Afghan Parliamentarians’ Dialogues at official level. A delegation of 14 Afghan Parliamentarians, belonging to the Meshrano Jirga and Wolesi Jirga of Afghan Parliament had a detailed dialogue with their Pakistani counterparts on the contentious issues of the both countries. PILDAT conceptualised and initiated the project of building and deepening Parliamentary ties and relations between Pakistan and Afghanistan in 2008. Six joint workshops of Pakistani and Afghani Parliamentarians were held by PILDAT in 2008, 2009 and mid 2011.
