This booklet details the background and objectives of the Joint Workshop series of Pakistani and Afghan parliamentarians and parliamentary staff on Parliamentary Practices that are scheduled to commence with the holding of the First Joint Workshop of Pakistani and Afghan Parliamentarians on “Parliamentary Oversight” on April 22-23, 2008 at Islamabad, Pakistan. The First Workshop on Parliamentary Oversight brings together members and parliamentary staff of the Meshrano Jirga and the Wolesi Jirga, the Upper and Lower Houses of the Afghan Parliament along with their Pakistani counterparts.
