PILDAT held a national roundtable discussion on “How can professionals be more effective players in National Affairs?” on April 15, 2002 in Karachi. The roundtable involved representatives (leadership and executive membership) of a number of professional organizations in Pakistan. The aim of the roundtable was to evaluate the current state of professionals’ influence in the decision-making and policy formulating processes of Pakistan and to suggest ways of enhancing the role of professional bodies. These proceedings contain the speeches, presentations and papers presented at the roundtable as well as transcripts of the discussion and Q&A sessions among the speakers and participants.
