PILDAT convened an All Parties Conference (APC) on Polio-a National Emergency on December 19, 2013 in Islamabad. A Follow-Up meeting with Parliamentary Leaders and Political Party Representatives on Polio Eradication in association with UNICEF, Pakistan under the Project “To Raise Awareness among Parliamentarians to Enhance the Effectiveness of Anti-Polio” was held on July 15, 2013 in Islamabad. Parliamentary leadership of leading Political Parties of Pakistan re-affirmed their commitment to eradicate polio from Pakistan at the Follow-Up meeting. Political Parties who participated in the meeting unanimously agreed to the right of all children in Pakistan to vaccination and the duty of the Government to ensure no child is left un-immunized against vaccine-preventable diseases. They agreed to stand ready to support Government at all levels to achieve goal of polio eradication from the country.
