First year of increased Women Representation in the Parliament: Lessons, Reflections and the Way Forward

PILDAT held a dialogue on ‘Increased Women Representation in Parliament: Lessons, Reflections and the Way Forward’ on February 9, 2004. The aim of the dialogue was to reflect on the experiences of women parliamentarians over the past one year, both to address the issues which have been faced in this period and to plan for the future. It analyzed the impact of increased women representation in the Parliament and discussed strategies to improve the performance of women parliamentarians in the future. The proceedings of the dialogue contain the speeches, presentations and papers presented by the speakers and resource persons at the session, as well as transcripts of the Q&A sessions among the speakers and participants.
