Lahore, July 24, 2024– PILDAT, in collaboration with the National Democratic Institute (NDI), successfully organized two Stakeholder Sessions for Consultations with a diverse group of Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) working in various districts of Punjab. The objective of the sessions was to assess the needs of Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) in order to eventually develop informative tools that will aid them in engaging with the provincial and local governments and in improving citizen’s access to information about governmental processes and governance standards at a local level. The discussion in the first session focused on access to district-level information, keeping in mind the ground realities and experiences of CSOs. In the second session, participants discussed the most pertinent information that citizens require to engage with local governments and administrations. Both sessions were well-attended and facilitated productive discussions, underscoring PILDAT’s commitment to strengthening democratic processes at the grassroots level.
