Weak State, Strong Nation: Pakistan 2009 is a paper compiled by Dr. Ijaz Shafi Gilani, Chairman Gallup, Pakistan, is an analysis of various surveys conducted during 2008-09 by organisations such as the Gallup Pakistan, the International Republican Institute (IRI) and other polling organisations. The objective behind the analysis contained in this paper is to view public opinion on issues ranging the performance of the government and various government institutions in the first year after the February 2008 elections. The paper has been especially compiled by Dr. Ijaz Shafi Gilani as part of the series of papers commissioned by PILDAT towards the completion of the first year of Parliament and the democratic government after February 2008 elections.
