The Pakistan Institute of Legislative Development and Transparency (PILDAT), with the support of the European Union and in partnership with the Social Youth Council of Patriots (SYCOP), is launching a Call for Applications from youth-led Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) having presence in Muzaffargarh, Layyah, Jhang and Kot Addu districts to receive financial support for the implementation of locally relevant climate action micro-projects.
The microgrants are being awarded under Rising Leaders: Youth in Climate Leadership & Governance, a three-year project that seeks to empower youth as active stakeholders in policy advocacy, democratic governance and climate change adaptation.
Through this Call, 18-20 youth-led CSOs will be supported to implement community-level micro-projects in the four target districts. Selected CSOs will receive financial support of up to Rs. 3.2 million (32 lacs) per project, as well as capacity building, mentorship and technical support.
The micro-projects will focus on locally relevant climate adaptation, mitigation, disaster risk reduction (DRR) and policy advocacy. Particular consideration will be given to gender-responsive approaches and the meaningful participation of young women, rural youth and other marginalised groups.
