Gerindra Party Chair pays tribute to Pakistan-Indonesia Friendship; welcomes Pakistan delegation with Guard of Honour

July 20: Indonesia wishes Pakistan eternal prosperity, said the chairman Gerindra Party Mr. Prabowo Subianto as his party office bearers chanted Pakistan Zindabad slogans at the Gerindra party headquarters in Jakarta where he and his colleagues warmly received Pakistan delegation with a Guard of Honour and band playing national anthems of Indonesia and Pakistan.

Honourable Mr. Prabowo Subianto, a former military official, was the runner-up candidate in the Presidential elections of Indonesia in 2014 while his party is the third largest party in the Indonesian Parliament. A presentation was delivered to the Pakistan delegation at the party headquarters on the structure and functions of the party and its action programmes followed by an interactive lunch session that included Indonesian cultural performance and party anthems.

The last day of the PILDAT-facilitated Study Visit to Indonesia began with the Pakistan delegation visiting the Centre for Strategic Studies and International Studies (CSIS) where Mr. Jusuf Wanandi, Vice Chair CSIS and CSIS experts gave an insightful presentation on Indonesian journey towards democratic consolidation.

The eight-member Pakistani delegation led bySenator Mushahid Hussain Sayed, Chairperson, Senate Standing Committee on Defence completed the Study Visit to Indonesia. The delegation members included Syed Naveed Qamar, MNA Chairperson, National Assembly Standing Committee on Railways, PPPP;  Senator Muhammad Javed Abbasi, Chairperson, Senate Standing Committee on Law and Justice; Oversight Committee on Eradication of Corruption from Federal Government Departments, PML-N;  Senator Lt. Gen. (Retd.) Abdul Qayyum, Chairperson, Senate Standing Committee on Defence Production
Convener, Pakistan-France Parliamentary Friendship Group, PML-N;  Lt. Gen. (Retd.) Moinuddin Haider, Former Federal Minister for Interior; Former Governor Sindh Province;  Syed Ali Zafar, Senior Advocate Supreme Court of Pakistan; Former President Supreme Court Bar Association; Ms. Aasiya Riaz, Joint Director PILDAT and  Ms. Amna Kausar, Projects Manager PILDAT.
